MyFloridaCensus
With the 2010 Census underway, the Florida House of Representatives has launched www.myfloridacensus.gov to make sure that every Floridian gets counted, and we need your help! Each Floridian not counted means between $900 and $3,000 dollars a year in missed Federal funds. These lost funds will have to be made-up by local taxes or less services.
MyFloridaCensus is a simple online tool that allows anyone in Florida to tell us whether or not they have been counted in the 2010 Census.  With that information in hand, the Florida House of Representatives is able to work with other census partners to help analyze (and thereby minimize) which streets, neighborhoods and communities may go missed in the 2010 Census.
Please click the link www.myfloridacensus.gov and put in your address; then, click on the button to tell if you have been counted by the census or not. This will put a point on the map to show where people have and have not been reached by the census.

Parent Grade Portal - Duval County Public Schools recently launched a new web site tool for parents to see individual student information, including grades, attendance, a school calendar and more.  Parents will need to register for a login and password at Mandarin Oaks in the front office. Picture ID is required to receive your Username and Password.

Congratulations to Mr. Champagne, MOE's Teacher of the Year, DCPS's Teacher of the Year, and one of five finalists for the 2011 Macy's/Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year!!

  • PTA Casting Call: Play your part and join MOE PTA!  Dues are just $5 for the whole school year. Membership envelopes are available in the school office OR print a copy of this form; just fill it out and send it along with payment to your student's teacher. With your membership, we can continue to support our school by purchasing planners for all our students, supporting Sunshine Math and Great Leaps reading Programs, and helping Resource Teachers fund supplies. Our biggest past projects include the completion of 2 playgrounds and providing technology to the classrooms. In Spring of 2009, we were able to purchase 10 more laptops, 2 more document cameras, 340 calculators and 10 six-foot tables for use throughout the school.  This year, we will be revitalizing the Kindergarten playground. Thank you to everyone who has supported the efforts to enhance the educational experience of all our students here at MOE! More information on joining PTA here.  Volunteering and attendance at General Meetings are not required, but are encouraged. Check out the minutes from our August 27th, our October 15th, and our March 18th General Meetings last year.
  • Support Our Fundraisers!  We need your help to support excellent education at MOE. Donations are always welcome.
  • Volunteer!  Opportunities range from rewarding short, one-time activities to even-more-rewarding long-term commitments. For more information, please visit our Volunteers page.
  • Advocate for Children!  PTA is the nation's largest volunteer child advocacy group, and we need you to join your voice to ours to create a powerful influence to help guarantee the education and well-bring of all children.  Find more information on our Advocacy page
  • Save Box Tops and Otherwise Support the School through Your Shopping!  Check back often for news about specials that can benefit both you and the school. Click here for more information.
  • Recycle Paper in the Bins in the Car Rider Circle & Printer Cartridges & Used Cell Phones by Turning Them in to the Front Office!  Not only are you helping the earth, but MOE is paid for any paper -- all types of paper, from office paper to magazines and newspapers, even shredded paper -- submitted for recycling through these bins (more information on the recycling program here and here) and for recycling the printer cartridges and cell phones.
  • Support Our Programs to Benefit the Community!  For instance, we always collect aluminum pop tops, such as the ones from soda cans, for Ronald McDonald House to pay its electric bill. Just put the pop tops in a plastic baggie, label the baggie "PTA," and turn the baggie in to the school office or send it to class with your child.
  • Purchase and Use MOE Spirit Items! This year we are offering a new design on our short-sleeved T-Shirt: it will be kelly green, tie-dyed with our logo on the front left chest and an eagle design on the back. This T-Shirt is still available, but our navy blue jackets and hoodies and maroon long-sleeve shirt from last year are no longer available.  Show your school spirit, and order today! Click here for an order form to print out, fill out, and send in to the school with payment.
