Concerned about Florida's current education funding situation?  Visit our new Advocacy webpage to find out ways PTA and related organizations are working to restore funding for our schools and to support all our students in Florida's education system--and how you can get involved!

We're Building the Road to Ground-Breaking Success!

MOE won the Little Red Schoolhouse Award last year for the 7th year in a row, and we were an “A” FCAT school, also for the 7th year in a row--and now it's 8 years in a row!!  Many thanks to everyone for all your hard work!

Contribute to our efforts to keep up the good work by:
  • Joining the MOE PTA!  Dues are just $5 for the whole school year.  (More information here)
  • Supporting Our Fundraisers (Donations are also welcome).
  • Volunteering: Opportunities range from rewarding short, one-time activities to even-more-rewarding long-term commitments.  (More information here and on the Volunteers page.)
  • Advocating for Children: PTA is the nation's largest volunteer child advocacy group, and we need you to join your voice to ours to create a powerful voice to guarantee the education and well-begin of all children.  (More information on the Advocacy page.)
  • Saving Box Tops and otherwise supporting the school through your shopping.  (More information on the BoxTops and Support School pages.)  Check back often for news about specials that can benefit both you and the school.
  • Recycling paper in the bins in the car rider circle.  MOE is paid for any paper--all types of paper, from office paper to magazines and newspapers--submitted for recycling through these bins.
  • Supporting our programs that benefit the community.  For instance, we collect aluminum pop tops (such as the ones from soda cans) for Ronald McDonald House.  Just put the pop tops in a plastic baggie, label the baggie "PTA," and turn the baggie into the school office or send it into class with your child.
  • Purchasing and using MOE Spirit Items.
  • Attending and participating in any of the activities and programs listed to the right.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to the MOE Employee of the Year, Julie Hughes!

Congratulations to Jenifer Morgan and Yvonne St. John, MOE's Volunteers of the Year!

Congratulations to Ms. Montemayor for being selected MOE's Teacher of the Year!

Congratulations to MOE's own Mr. Kenney!  He has been selected as a state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching!  (Full Story here)

Congratulations to the six MOE students who represented our school at the recent Duval County Reflections competition in Film Production, Literature, Photography, and Visual Arts.  Their names are listed in the March newsletter. ♥
